ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
Anawim Support Ventures (ASV) is a non-governmental humanitarian organization founded to give financial support to intelligent, indigent students of higher institutions to enable them graduate promptly. ASV is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission with the registration no. BN 2533711. Its corporate head office is at the ESUT (Enugu) Investment Credit and Cooperative Society Ltd. building in Agbani. ASV is designed to run in perpetuity, alleviating primarily the financial burdens of financially challenged ESUT students but will, in future, as the venture grows, assist indigent students from other institutions. ASV runs strictly on laid down rules, and assistance is rendered to deserving students irrespective of where the students come from. Rigorous interviews are conducted to identify deserving students and to ascertain the level of assistance ASV can render. It is the policy of ASV that any lie detected either in completed forms or during the interview automatically disqualifies the student. Anawim Support Ventures does not pardon lies. Because of limited yearly budget, ASV encourages students to contribute part of their school fees. This is to enable ASV assist more students. However, in desperate cases, ASV pays the whole school fees. So far ASV has assisted 176 ESUT students in the three (3) years (2017/18 – 2019/20) it has operated. BOARD OF DIRECTORS
On behalf of Anawim Support Ventures, I welcome you most sincerely, with Christly affection, to its website. You may have stumbled into this site, or have been directed to it; whichever way, know that it is divine direction.
There are so many inequalities in the world. For example, some people have so much and others have so little. This is NOT divine direction. It is on this understanding that the extreme inequalities in our society is not divine direction that you must stand and address what appears to be your apparent lack.
Anawim will give you temporary relief if you meet its criteria, to enable you complete your programme; but a lasting solution to your apparent lack rests ultimately with you. And you must think about this seriously and lay a solid foundation for financial success when you leave the university.
Materialism is the root cause of societal problems with financial inequality at the Centre; and extreme materialism is the intoxicating wine that produces “dog eat dog” attitude that makes one eager to prey on the other in our society at any given opportunity. That is classical rat race, isn’t it? And it will stay with us for a long, long time. Scary, isn’t it?
Be not naive to think that change for a more equitable society will come through revolution, by the blade. No! Such does not give lasting solution to problems of such magnitude or any problem at all. Lasting solutions to problems no matter their magnitude come through individual revolution of the right sort; mental revolution. Oh! Is that it? No. All I want is money to solve my problems.
My dear friend, solution of any kind of problem whether it is money or not, starts in thought. Did king Solomon (remember, God blessed him with so much wisdom) not tell us in Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he). ” You think poverty, failure, hopelessness, defeat, sickness; you have them. And Job, bemoaning the calamities that fell on him exclaimed: “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.” (Job 3:25). One is afraid of failure so one does not try something worth trying because one is afraid of failure. Result? Failure. And the ultimate problem solver that the world ever had, Christ Jesus, told us in the gospels what can defile [make sick, poor or sinful] a man. He said in Mark 7: 20-24 that it is what a man thinks, what comes out of him that defiles him. Such thoughts, according to Christ Jesus, are evil thoughts which include adultery, fornication, murders, theft, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness, [constant thought of lack and self-pity].
When all these evil thoughts fill up consciousness, where is the room good thoughts of success and supply and joy and compassion etc.? No room at all.
One, whose consciousness is filled with trouble will always find trouble, and be in trouble wherever he goes just as one whose consciousness is filled with a sense of lack will always experience lack even if one is in Eldorado! And as for one who thinks that something will always go wrong, he will find that something always goes wrong with his studies or business or health or whatever one does.
My dear friend, do you get the point?
The point is that you create your experiences in your own thoughts.
Do you believe this?
No.
Why?
Because one cannot see thoughts.
Fair enough but your answer is only belief. The truth of the matter is that everything one sees and everything one experiences is a projection of one’s thoughts.
Try for just one week, to reject some of the negative thoughts that beseech you every day. It has been reported that one thinks 16,000 thoughts every day! most repetitive thoughts of past events that frighten, weaken or make us angry. Try rejecting these thoughts and replacing them with more selfless thoughts of what you long to be. For example, when hatred and resentment wails up in you, try replacing them with God’s love for you and all; when a sense of lack dements you, replace it with the fact that God has enough supply for all His children, and if you wait patiently on God, He will supply the idea that will in turn produce my supply.
Try this honestly and painstakingly and see the transformation this will have on you. There are no short cuts to lasting good. So be patient with yourself and the grace of God will be with you. Amen
